PMJAY provides health coverage for each family each year to the economically weaker population of India. The financial aid will depend on the level of care they need. PMJAY Registration 2024

To register for the PM-Jay scheme follow the below steps:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of PM-JAY.
  • Step 2: Scroll down and find the “Registration.” Click on it.
  • Step 3: Now, you will be asked to provide your Aadhaar card and mobile number details. Fill it correctly and carefully.
  • Step 4 After the portal verify your mobile number by sending an OTP on SMS. Fill out the OTP and complete the mobile verification process.
  • Step 5:  Now, a screen will appear in the form of personal details. Fill in all the information carefully. 
  • Step 6: Upload the asked document, make sure the documents are scanned before uploading them. 
  • Step 7: Now, review the filled information and submit the application, you will get your application number, write it, or save it for future purposes.

Make sure that you write out the correct information.

PMJAY Card Download

To download your PMJAY Card, follow the below steps:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website.
  • Step 2: On the right side of the screen, find the “AM I Eligible?” option, click on that.
  • Step 3: A screen will appear where you have to fill in your registered mobile number link to your Ayushman account.
  • Step 4: If you are on the beneficiary list, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number. Fill in that OTP.
  • Step 5: Now, you will be directed to a page where you can download your PMJAY card. 

Eligibility Criteria of PM-JAY

To become the beneficiary of the scheme the applicant must check their Socio-economic status on Socio-Economic Caste Census-2011 data. Because the government has made the candidates eligible based on their deprivation and occupational opportunity.

The families that have been listed in the SECC record and RSBY are eligible for the PM-JAY registration. The scheme also covers families who are registered under RSBY but not in the SECC 2011 record. The government has categorized the eligibility for rural and urban beneficiaries as follows:

For Rural Beneficiaries

  • Families who have only one room with kucha walls and roof.
  • Household with no adult member of age group 16-59.
  • Households with no male adult member between age group 16-59.
  • Households that belong to SC/ST categories.
  • Families that consist of one disabled member without any healthy adult member.
  • Families who do not have any land under their name, mainly earn from casual labor.

For Urban beneficiary

Under the scheme, the government has categorized the following 11 occupations eligible for the scheme:

  • Domestic Worker
  • Beggar
  • Street Vendor/ hawker/ other service provider on the streets.
  • Sanitation worker/ Sweeeper/ Mali.
  • Electrician/ Mechanic/ Repair worker/ Assembler.
  • Artisan/ Handicrafts worker/ Tailor/ Home-based worker
  • Head load workers such as construction workers, Welder, Security guards, Coolie, etc.
  • Transportation workers/ Driver/ Conductor/ helper/conductor/ Cart puller/Rickshaw puller.
  • Washer-man.

Documents Required for PM-JAY

  • Ration card and other certificates to fill in the family details.

Benefits of the PMJAY Scheme

  • The beneficiaries can get free treatment for up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year in State government hospitals or private hospitals. If the treatment covers multiple surgeries the beneficiary will be offered the highest package and the expenses will be covered for secondary and tertiary care in 50% and 25 % respectively.
  • The scheme offers cashless access to healthcare at any nearby hospital.
  • The scheme covers expenses of 3 days pre-hospitalization and 15 days post-hospitalization to ensure that no financial stress will come upon the beneficiary’s families.
  • It is applicable all over India, so wherever you are in India, you can avail the benefits of this scheme.
  • The scheme covers 25 special categories and offers medical packages accordingly.
  • It also covers follow-up medical expenses.
