Ring provides home security cameras, FTC alleged that the company has failed to protect their customer accounts as they gave access to their customer’s private videos to contractors and employees making the system vulnerable to hackers.

The FTC also claims that the firm has used the customer’s video to train the computer’s algorithm without obtaining any permission from the customers. FTC stated such practices are a threat to consumer’s privacy. However, Ring disagreed with the claims and decided to go for settlement.
